A wonderful opportunity has arisen for a secondment for six (6) months into Band 7 team Lead Occupational Therapy role for acute medicine.
We are looking for an innovative person who has recent and relevant experience working as an OT in an acute hospital setting which will include experience of Acute Elderly and/or Acute Medical. We are seeking someone who is passionate about providing high quality care, supporting change, and who enjoys working in a rapid paced environment. The focus is on early intervention and discharge planning specifically for our frail elderly patients, but also acute medical patient and you will therefore need to demonstrate experience of working with this client group and be familiar with their specialist needs and with the assessment of patients with diverse presentations and complex physical, cognitive and psychological health needs.
The role will enable you to develop your leadership skills, as supervision of Band 6 and band 5 therapists is a major part of the role, along with Technical Assistants and students.
A flexible working style will also be essential as you may be required to cover other areas within the Specialist Medical and Acute Elderly Teams, as well undertake mobility assessments, to ensure all staff working in the area can provide a full and holistic therapy assessment and treatment
